Drew Nesbitt has done it! The Simcoe County golfer moved one step closer to the PGA Tour by securing his card on the Korn Ferry Tour, the official developmental tour for the PGA Tour.
After the final PGA Tour Americas event of the season - the Fortinet Cup Championship - Nesbitt ended up 8th on the season-long Fortinet Cup points race.
The top 10 finishers in the Fortinet Cup earn Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2026 season, and they are exempt into Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry (December 11-14). These 10 players also receive a share of the $100,000 Fortinet Cup bonus pool.
Nesbitt (shown in photo with his father Dave after winning the Victoria Open) shot 70-70-66-70 to finish tied for 43rd at the championship, which was held at Morgan Creek Golf Course in Surrey, British Columbia.
As the top Canadian player in the points race, Nesbitt also earned an exemption into the RBC Canadian Open, which will be contested June 11-14, 2026 at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley (North).
Nesbitt, from Horseshoe Valley, becomes the second Canadian to finish in ‘The 10’ and graduate to the Korn Ferry Tour, joining Matthew Anderson, who finished No. 3 on PGA TOUR Americas last season.
Nesbitt posted three top-five finishes, including a win at the season’s penultimate event, the Times Colonist Victoria Open.
