PGA of Canada scramble features 24 teams

Dalewood team wins at Tangle Creek

Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club near Barrie played host on Tuesday to PGA of Canada - Ontario Zone’s  inaugural CFM/CLASS A Team Scramble.

The new event series pairs one Class A Professional with a Candidate for Membership newer to the Association and was designed to facilitate mentorship and create a wider reaching networking experience.

Twenty-four teams competed and when it was over the duo from Dalewood Golf Club in Cobourg came out on top.

Head Professional Brad Pemberton and his Assistant, Shea Varty, caught fire early and didn't take their foot off the pedal all day.

They finished their round at an impressive 13-under and narrowly beat Aaron Wagner (Focus Golf Group) and Thomas Keddy (Oslerbrook Golf & Country Club near Collingwood) who missed a birdie putt on their last hole to finish one back of the lead.

Other players from the BruceGreySimcoe region were Reilly Erwin and Richard Arlidge of The Club at Bond Head, who shot 62 and tied for 4th, and Dalton Koopmans and Fred Davey from Barrie Country Club who shot 72 and finished 24th.
