Catherine Butler of The Georgian Bay Club near Thornbury shot 99 in extremely windy conditions today to finish 27th at the Ontario Senior Women’s Champion of Champions event at Heron Point Golf Links near Hamilton.
The winner was Jane Hedges-Mckinnon of Bear Creek Golf & Country Club in Strathroy, who shot 84.
In the Women’s Champion of Champions event, which was also held at Heron Point today, the top BruceGreySimcoe golfer was Patty Vance of Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club who shot 95 and was listed in 16th place.
Public player Kimberley Legge from Paisley shot 98 and was listed in 20th place.
The winner was Chris Critelli of St. Catharines Golf and Country Club who shot 80 and won in a playoff over Mary Ann Hayward of St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.
“It was a crazy day out there. It was tough to play and I am sure that everybody had a tough round,” Critelli said in a Golf Ontario news release.
The events featured last year's women's and senior women's club champions from across Ontario.
