David Greenaway made a strong attempt to defend his 2019 title at the Ontario Senior Men’s Amateur Championship.
The Barrie Country Club member shot rounds of 72-75-75 and finished tied for 4th – six strokes back of winner Dave Bunker of Cherry Hill Club (74-70-72).
Two other golfers from BruceGreySimcoe made the cut:
T-24th John Alpaugh of Vespra Hills Golf Club (80-75-77).
32nd Nick Digiandomenico of the Nest Golf Club near Barrie (74-80-83)
Another golfer with local connections - Steve Irving, a long-time member of Legacy Ridge Golf Club near Owen Sound who moved to London, Ontario last year and now plays out of Highlands Golf Club – also made the cut. He shot 74-77-81 and tied for 24th.

Also missing the cut was Canadian rocker Tom Cochrane who shot rounds of 75-82 and missed by one stroke.
The championship was played at Taboo Muskoka Resort in Gravenhurst.
