Cranston wins junior championship

Katie Cranston after her double-win at Ontario Junior Girls' Championship.

Oakville Golf Club’s Katie Cranston won the Junior and Juvenile titles at the Ontario Junior Girls’ Golf Championship and two golfers from the BruceGreySimcoe region finished in the top 36.
 
Twelve-year-old Michelle Xing of National Pines Golf Club near Barrie shot rounds of 78-81-75-80 and finished tied for 34th overall and tied for 25th in the Juvenile division.

The only other golfer from BGS who made the cut was 14-year-old Keira Hou, also of National Pines. She carded rounds of 77-76-77-85 and tied for 36th overall and tied for 27th in the Juvenile division.

Cranston secured her titles by shooting rounds of 71-68-69-74 for a -6 total.
It was a four-stroke victory over fellow Oakville GC member Nicole Gal, who carded rounds of 70-71-75-70.
 
BGS golfers missing the cut were:

Mackenzie Czapla, Midland Golf and Country Club 94-94

Bryden Dilley, The Nest at Friday Harbour near Barrie 86-78
Kyle Ruston, Midland G &CC 87-91
Olivia Stoddart, Barrie Country Club 85-82

The championship was played at Shelburne Golf and Country Club.
