Legacy Ridge
THE GOLF GODS GIVE AND TAKE AWAY!
Roughneckers (350) "best in show"  victory over Fairway to Heaven (371) set the tone for what was a week of crushing defeats or victories depending which side you were on. Birdie Boyz (361) easily toppled the unusually wobbly Steady Eddy's (374) and Weapons of Grass Destruction mowed down the defenceless Stan's Army (384).

Things are tightening up in the Season Standings. Only three points separate the season front runners WGD (328) from the second place Steady Eddys (325). Birdie Boyz (305) and Stan's Army (301) and the Roughneckers(291) are all tightly bunched as they round the final turn, and could still pass the leaders in the final sprint to the line.

That Ryan Amyot (32) took low gross honours this week is not big news. The fact, according to his brother Chase, that he sacrificed a day's fishing to show up, is. Kent Simpson's (33) is a far more noteworthy achievement. Here is a man with a 45.58 Gross Average having the nine of his life on a 'Wednesday' night! He tied the Pro for gosh sake!  Kent's card shows that he had four 'threes' in succession on holes #5, #6, #7 and #8. That's wow territory! And attention must be paid to David Cruickshank (29), Low Net winner of the week. David bettered his personal Low Gross Average for the season by 8 strokes to post a gross 37 and net 29. And furthermore, Dave claimed three skins in Flight 8-10 with lone birdies on #1,#2 and #5. How can a golfer with 'shank' at the end of his name do so well?

What these two men achieved is the opposite of the normal 'Wednesday' occurrence when one finds The Patio resonating with the wailings of a multitude of golfers explaining how they broke forty but on the 'wrong' nine. And this week a number of our regular stars fell from grace!

PINS ($71): Hole 1: Adam Barfoot (33' 3"). Hole 2: Zac Wiltzen (2' 7"). Hole 3: Greg Millman (29' 7"). Hole 4: Theo Pekham (Keg). Hole 6: James McGregor (23' 8"). Hole 8: Lloyd Stewart (2' 9"). Hole 9: Doug Grahlman (33' 5").

SKIN NOTEWORTHY: D'Arcy Honer won the only skin in Flight +3 to 4. His birdie on #3 winning him a tidy $132. This is the first skin D'Arcy has won this year. In Flight 5 to 7, Skin money leaders Brendon Haefling and Dave Alviano continue to pile up their winnings with birdies on #5 and #2 respectively. And Dave would probably like me to note that he also won a deuce.  Brendon now has $239 of skin money and Dave has $170. I wish it was taxable! Who's jealous?

50/50 Winner: Bill Christie $95.
