Two golfers from the BruceGreySimcoe region finished in the top 20 at the Ontario Men’s Amateur Championship.
Brady Zordan of Shanty Bay Golf Club near Barrie, who was 2nd after the first day of the event, shot a final-round 73 and tied for 13th. His other three rounds were 69-77-76 and he finished with a +11 total.
Taylor Beckstead of Tangle Creek Golf and Country Country Club near Barrie (shown in photo above) fired a final-round 76 and tied for 18th.
His previous three rounds were 74-75-72.
The winner was Garrett Rank of Elmira Golf Club, who shot 66-69-73-74 and won by two strokes over Thomas DeMarco of Essex Golf and Country Club.
Rank, an NHL referee who played in the U.S. Open last month, led all four days of the tournament, which was held at St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.
