Chris Frook, shown in this file shot, was among the BGS golfers qualifying for the Ontario Men's Mid-Amateur.
Four golfers from the BruceGreySimcoe region qualified yesterday (May 22) for the Ontario Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Tops among them was Chris Frook of Cobble Beach Golf Links near Owen Sound, who shot 75 and tied for 4th at the qualifier, which was held at National Pines Golf Club near Barrie.
Mark Henderson and Dave Mills, both of Barrie Country Club, and Ernie Vettese of Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club near Barrie, all shot 78 and tied for 10th.
Only the top 22 and alternates qualify for the championship, which will be held June 19-21 at Burlington Golf and Country Club.
The winner of the National Pines qualifier was public player Ranga Sugathapola of Uxbridge who shot 73.
